Welcome! We are proud to be a part of your child’s literacy and learning experiences. We offer a variety of materials, programs and services for children from birth through grade 6. We strive to encourage and enhance a life-long love of reading and learning. We hope you’ll spend some time browsing our links and reading about all that we have to offer. Who: Children in grades K & 1
When: Tuesday, February 9, 2016
Time: 4:15-5pm
Place: Friends Room

"Get in Line for Valentines!" Even school-age children love to listen to stories, so add milk and cookies for a transition from school to home. This program will encourage children to explore the stories through crafts, science, games or other fun activities. Registration begins January 26 for residents; February 4 for nonresidents.

Who: Families with children age 6 & under
When: Saturday, February 13, 2016
Time: 10am
Place: Children's Story Room

Enjoy a family-oriented, drop-in storytime that is fun for the whole family. And take a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday preparations with a seasonal story in this December "Together Time Tales" gathering. This program is offered the second Saturday of each month through May 2016. No registration required.

Who: Students in grades K-6
When: Tuesday, February 16 , 2016
Time: 2-4pm
Place: Friends Room

Students in grades K-6 can explore aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). Stations will be set up for kids to try different activities in these areas based on their interests. This is a drop-in program, and children can visit anytime during the two-hour program to work individually or in groups.

Who: Children in grades 1-6
When: Tuesday, February 23, 2016
Time: 4:15-5:30pm
Place: Friends Room

Join us for some building fun! Creative kids will listen to a story and be challenged to design their own creation based on the selected theme. Plenty of LEGO® building bricks will be provided. Registration begins February 9 for residents; February 18 for nonresidents.

Bedtime Stories
Who: Families with children ages 6 & under
When: Wednesdays through March 2, 2016
Time: 6:30-7pm
Place: Children's Story Room

A drop-in storytime held in the evenings for families with children ages 6 & under. Put on PJs, grab your teddy bear and settle down for a half-hour of stories. This program takes place on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm from January 27 to March 2.

 

Tinkerlab
Who: Children and their adults
When: Fridays through March 25, 2016
Time: 10:30am-12noon
Place: Children's Story Room

A place to learn, play, create and explore! Adults must stay and participate with their children. These are drop-in programs - no registration is needed.
